This small, family, comfortable, quiet and very well maintained Hotel was build in 1997 and lays just 100 meter to the beach. It is equipped with a large swimming pool and it is just 5 – 10 minutes walk away from the picturesque town of Finikas. The hotel holds a very friendly atmosphere and offers its guests everything they might need for a recuperating vacation on a beautiful island. Although it is located in a central spot of Kykladen it is mostly untouched and still not a victim of the international tourism: here you will have a Kykladen island that is still Greek!

The town of Finikas has a long bay that is protected from wind (perfect for children) and offers crystal clear water as well as a wide sandy beach with shady trees and presents the opportunity to try out various water sports. Here you will find a safe spot for yachts and sail boats and a small harbor to set your anchor. The small town Finikas at Kokkina beach lays just a few kilometers north of Poseidonia and 11 kilometer south-west of Ermoupolis, the island’s capital with 28.000 inhabitants. Finikas contains the already mentioned small picturesque harbor, a gym, sports opportunity on land and on water, very inviting taverns with delicious fish menus, small bars, cafés, markets and a children’s playground. Close by are also many restaurants that will spoil your gums. Other than that you will find less hussle so that every guest can let their soul rest and will have with the hotel an ideal place to spend a peaceful vacation.

Syros´s residents live mostly of farming, fishing and ship building. The capital with its picturesque homes shines with its own atmosphere – it is lively, Greek and cozy with wonderful architecture. By arrival you will first notice a busy life dominated by cars, busses and stores. Just a few meter away, you can enter the first steps into the small overgrown ( with vineyards) alleys and the quiet and friendly island life will rule. An old wharf with traditional ship building gives the impression of past times in Syros, as the island was still the center of the Agaeis (still Ermoupolis is the capital of Kykladen) and as during some periods it dominates even Athens with its location. Therefore it is no surprise that you will find in the capital a smaller version of the Scala of Milan – culture was always be considered important in Syros.

All towns outside of Ermouplis are perfect to get to know the country and the people – such natural can’t be found on any other of the Kykladen island that are perhaps more lively with tourism, but don’t impress with tranquility, peace, nature or Greek life.

The central place of Ermoupolis is the Platia Miaoulis adjoined by the large city hall with an imposing stairway and which is enflamed by a variety of cafés and taverns below palm trees. You will find the Apollo theater in Ermoupolis as well as ruins, cathedrals, manors and more.

Every guest has to visit Ano Syros, an old village above Ermouoplis that impresses with its romantically angled alleys and hidden tavern. You have to ascend by foot – but your efforts will be paid off on the top by a beautiful view over Ermoupolis and over the ocean.

But back to the Hotel:
The Hotel Finikas contains 18 comfortable and spacious rooms, as well as 2 apartments. It lays directly by the beach and it is equipped with everything that one can require from a small and friendly Hotel. It holds sufficient play space for your children and includes a large pool with children’s pool and it is therefore practically prepared to welcome small guests. The breakfast is large and the infrastructure won’t let open any desires. Should you be traveling as couple, small family or as a group and thought out Kykladen as destination for your travel, you will probably desire besides comfort also tranquility, friendly service, closeness to the ocean and not an overcrowded surrounding. The hotel Finikas at the Kokkina beach will offer you all that.
